Hi ladies,

Firstly thank you to all of you for being so supportive at what’s been an incredibly difficult and lonely time. I knew choosing to try and become a donor mum I’d be doing so much alone, but so many of you have cheered my successes and comforted my loss the last 2 weeks that it’s helped me feel less alone, and I am grateful.

It’s been 2 weeks and I am still lightly bleeding, not much but still constant throughout the day. And still having positive pregnancy tests, so I just wondered how long it took others to stop all miscarriage symptoms? I’d really like this part to be over soon, the constant daily reminders of a positive test and the bleeding just prolong this painful event and I want to be able to move forward.

Thanks all

X

Hi Lisa, I’m sorry for your loss. I tested negative about 3 weeks after I started bleeding, which was about a week after I fully stopped. I didn’t test in between though so unfortunately can’t be more precise. I had mine naturally at home so I think this can affect things too. For me, I had light bleeding for about a week, before a final large bleed / clot (sorry if TMI), and then it fully stopped shortly after. I think my body was just waiting for the last piece to come out and then the bleeding stopped. Wishing you all the bets and hope this is over soon for you. Xx

Hi lovely, sorry again for your loss. With my natural MC I got a negative test 3 weeks after my MC and this was the date my clinic told me to test at and not before (obviously I did a lot before!)

I have had really mixed bleeding after both natural and surgical miscarriages but I have had up to 10 weeks bleeding although this was highly unusual. It’s not uncommon to bleed lightly for a couple of weeks and then start more heavily again and that’s often your first AF, it took a number of months for my cycles to settle into a ‘new normal’

I would test again in a week and if it’s still positive refer to EPU for bloods or a scan. I am sure it’s just your body settling down again and all will be well.

So sorry again, just the hardest of times xx
