Anyone doing IVF at Dundee? Any news on cancellations due to corona?

Hi all,

I am currently in the middle of my first IVF cycle at Dundee (NHS), wondering if anyone has heard if they have cancelled treatment due to the virus? I can’t reach them on the phone and don’t have another appointment until Friday with them, on day 4 of stims just now.

I managed to get through to talk to a nurse at Dundee. They have decided to continue with my treatment at the moment but anyone not on the stims part of the cycle are being cancelled. She said this is still subject to change though 😞

I am currently in the middle of a FET. Taking Progynova and Berserelin.

I phoned this morning and my appointment next week and my scheduled transfer, are at the moment going ahead.

I was told that they aren’t starting any new treatments and trying to minimise workload.

Nothing like some more stress at an already stressful time!

I completed my first cycle in Feb at Ninewells but got mild OHSS so had to do a freeze all cycle. Seems like this transfer is never going to happen. xx

I’m not having the easiest ride, baseline scan showed a large endometrioma on my ovary so they are having to monitor that also, it’s causing quite a bit of pain now 🤦🏼‍♀️ If it’s not one thing it’s another! Was referred over a year ago now and it’s just taken so long to get to this point.

That’s a shame about the OHSS, but at least they were taking it seriously as I’ve heard it’s a really awful thing to have! X

Nothing is every straight forward is it? How far away from EC are you? Hopefully it all goes well! ❤️

We were referred over a year ago too. The waiting is the worst. I have found it to be the hardest part of this whole process.

They did. I knew before egg collection it was a freeze all. Just praying this FET goes ahead.

EC is meant to be next week,Monday at the earliest depending on how my scan on Friday looks. Is your transfer due next week?

Waiting has definitely been the worst part, putting everything in life on hold just waiting on that first appointment x x

I found the egg collection ok! All the staff are so lovely. I have a scan to check lining next week then transfer arranged after that 🤞

I totally agree. I feel like I’ve lost this year with appointments and waiting! xx

Have definitely lost the past year on waiting and appointments,it really tests you 😞

Hi Laur3n, I’m also at Dundee and slightly freaking with anticipation that treatment will be cancelled. Iv been on Buserelin for a couple of weeks now and due my baseline scan next Tuesday. I’m doing a frozen round this time, so I hope and pray that I’ll get through it without it being cancelled. It’s hard enough already without thinking you could be taking meds for no reason. Hope your ok xx

Yeah it’s a horrible time for us all just now. I wonder each time I take my spray or do the injection if it’s all for nothing? So frustrating,I know they can’t help it but I would rather just know now than go through another week of this 😞

Yeah that would be really helpful and put my mind and im sure a lot of other ladies minds at ease if all is ok when you go. I hope and pray for a few more weeks minimum or at least until everyone in this cycle gets through it. Fingers crossed for all of us xx

I had my baseline scan last Wednesday and I am in next Tuesday morning for another scan. Like you both I took my

Spray wondering if it’s for nothing.

I hate waiting as it is! This process is the worst🤣🙈

I’ve been on countdown since my egg collection at the end of January for this. I’ve been trying to keep busy but it’s impossible not to think about it. 🤣🤣

Yeah I know, I’m so impatient as it is. My last round was October and iv had to wait all this time just to get to my next round. 5.5 months of waiting for a potential cancellation 😢😢 I’m just praying and crossing everything that I get through this next round xx

I know, tell me about it. The hospital told me that my body needed a break hence the delay on my 2nd round and also despite paying privately through NHS. My egg is in their freezer so I had no choice but to wait.

I saw the notice on their website earlier so I tried to call them. Eventually got through and they want to try get me to egg collection next week but will very likely be a freeze all and transfer at a later date.

At this rate I will be happy if I can just get to the egg collection stage, at least I will have something from this cycle 🤞🏼😞 x

Yeah I got through and my treatment has been cancelled completely and to stop taking my spray. Actually devastated 💔 I understand completely but it doesn’t make it any easier to deal with emotionally xx

Aww this is just horrible 😞 it’s so devastating for everyone. We have to put so much of our lives on hold already and now to be told to do it all over again with no timescale on it 😞 I don’t think anyone understands unless they have been through it. I hope you are doing ok ❤️ X x
