Next Steps After Failure(sensitive)

Hiya All,

Haven’t posted since my failure end of last Year.

Just starting to feel like myself again after all the hormones and the failure. Still a little fragile but feeling more in control.

So I had 7 good quality embryos from fresh cycle and 4 have been frozen. We have apparently unexplained fertility, however I have been pregnant before ( several years ago) due to an extremely controlling relationship I decided it was not right to bring a child in to it.

Before undertaking our first cycle of IVF I had scans to check things (apparently all looked ok) however, no one has ever mentioned checking if there is any damage from my termination. I have raised it with GP now! I have concerns of scaring or blocked tubes. Just don’t know how to approach further investigations before committing to a further frozen transfer.

I know some may find this post sensitive but can’t stop thinking I am paying for something several years ago. That now I want a baby with my husband I can’t!!!

Would be grateful for any advice.

❤️

Hello! If you can, ask your doctor to check your tubes, I had this done before I started IVF. I then had a Hysteroscopy to check for scaring after my 2nd round failed. I think both will give you peace of mind so well worth asking to have those done!

I've had both a HSG (dye put through tubes to check of they are clear). You don't need your tubes clear if you are doing IVF though. For me it was very painful just to be honest.

I also had a hysteroscopy, I think she said this was most important to check for scar tissue that would block implantation. It wasn't painful for me, just like a pap smear. My dr won't do ivf without it.

Best of luck to you on your journey! x
