3rd scan done, now things could go either way

5 folls growing, a bit slower than expected. Today is day 8 and 2 are 15, another 2 at 10 and one follow at 9. Another scan scheduled for Monday. Possible retrieval Tuesday if all goes well. Otherwise cycle could be cancelled. Yikes! Nervous doesn’t begin to describe my feelings. Just saw my acupuncturist. Hoping that helps. Gosh! I don’t know what else to do here.

This was what mine were like on day 8 and I was worried too but had 3 at 18 and one at 21 next scan so we went ahead with retrieval and got 15 eggs, some of them weren't mature enough but 6 were fertilised normally, day 5 embryo transfer is tomorrow

Congrats lovely. Best of luck for your transfer.

Wow. So they retrieved more than the scan showed?

Thankyou!! Yes, it only looked like 5 or 6 were ready but somehow 2 days later they managed to retrieve 15 eggs but most of them weren't mature and ended up having 6 fertilised so in the end up the ones that were seen on Monday were likely the ones that fertilised normally.

I have 1 ovary and used menopur, lowest dose initially. Until close before EC day I had 2-3 follicles that were on track and 2-3 a bit smaller. They increased my menopur dose and on the last day of stims I did an additional injection. On EC day I had 5 follicles (they focused on those big enough), 5 eggs, 4 eggs fertilised, 2 made it to 5 day blasts, 1 was transferred and 1 frozen.

I am 16 weeks pregnant now :)

Best of luck!

Hi Stam,

I had my day 8 scan yesterday as well and it showed nearly the same as yours with the biggest being 16. The rest were far behind around 8-12. They’ve increased my dose again and aiming for retrieval for Thursday. They said they might catch up.

So I’ll be rooting for us for them to grow! Sending best wishes your way ❤️

Update: 4th scan done today: now I have a 19, 17, 15, 13 and 11. So things are looking up, plans for retrieval on Friday. Wasn’t able to see my acupuncturist today d/t holiday but I plan to continue my ”follie growing regimen.”
