Hi all. First post for me. I’m 38, me and my DH have been TTC for 3 years. It’s a little of us both- a combo of short cycles and no ovulation and low Normal forms.
So, naturally has not happened and what started out as lots of fun trying......became just very trying. We’re in a good place though and after no joy on clomid now we start ICSI.
My first buserelin injection will be on 6.9.18 and I have no real idea of what to expect. Any advice would be great- I’ve taken off the first few days from work so I can get used to it. Am I going to be Jeckyll and Hyde for the duration?

Good luck with starting your IVF/ICSI cycle. Once you've done the first day or two of injections it pretty much becomes the norm. Everyone reacts to the drugs differently. Some get hot flushes, mood swings and/or mild back pain. I had mild back pain after a few days where my ovaries were getting bigger but no mood swings for me thankfully!
Hope all goes well and keep us updated once you get started x
I have had treatment at two different clinics and both have told me to do injections for stimulation between 7-9pm. This has been so that if they need to adjust dosage when you go in for scans you can start at the new dose that night but you should probably follow what your clinic advise. X
mine too! Im excited to get started but dreading it at same time-keep wishing I‘m suddenly going to have that miracle pregnancy (“because you’ve stopped thinking about it”) - absolutely wonderful for those couples but something I am very tired of hearing!
I’m on my first cycle too and been on down regulating meds for just over a week now. I haven’t had many side effects just a little bit more tired than usual and very vivid dreams/nightmares.
Thankyou- it’s so nice to have someone at a similar stage who knows what is like- I start on thursday. Feel sick with nerves and excitement at same time! Keeping everything crossed for you too!
not the best with needles but it’s getting easier. I’m on holiday from work so it’s been good to get used to it at home before I have to start doing it there (i have a very erratic work schedule). Have you had your baseline scan yet?
Good to hear you are getting on well. Yea I think the mindfulness app has helped me too!! I feel relatively chilled about everything and taking one day at a time. Had a scan on Thursday to check my uterus was thin which it was, so now on the stimulation meds!! 👍🏻 xx
