Hi I'm new here wondering if anyone can help.I was diagnosed about 10 years a.go with a non alcoholic fatty liver its never been a worry or an issue. About 2 months ago I had a blood test for another issue I have and it showed my liver function was twice what it should be. Dr checked for hepatitis and some other test and they came back negative. Now waiting 6 months to see specalist (as my dr says a precaution only) but Ive started getting a weird ache right hand side is this normal and should I be worried. Is there anything i can do to help my liver never had to think about it before.

Do I need to go back to the dr again

Also suffer with high blood pressure this year. Fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis

Could it be my medication

Any help would be great.

I had borderline NAFLD while doing hormone treatment to lower testosterone for prostate cancer. I noticed it when lying prone, face down as a discomfort under the right rib cage. Tests showed about 4.8% fatty accumulation. Since then, I lowered my carb intake, esp in the morning, and eat some protein, either powder or fish, and it seems to have worked. Try that first, and maybe workout some in the morning before ingesting food to help lower your insulin resistance. GL!

We recommend the Mediterranean diet and with right upper quadrant pain you should see a doc as soon as possible. You should try to get a Fibroscan to measure your liver stiffness.
