NASH progressed

Hi I've had fatty liver disease for many years nowIt progressed to NASH eventually

Now on my latest fibroscan it shows 80 percent of fat in my liver (highest ever)

And more scarring bringing me out of F4 fibrosis into suspected Cirrhosis

All I can do is wait. I'm in the UK and drs don't prescribe the new medication here like in America.

I even said I'd be willing to pay if it would help, Dr said it wouldn't.

So, I'm kind of in limbo. I know I'm not alone but I do feel it as I've no energy to do social meeting.

In pain with rotator cuff injury lately, the physio exercises exacerbated the pain, Dr has upped my pain relief to tramadol as co codamol want reading the pain and my range of motion is low.

I have carers which I pay for out of my PIP, they come in for a chat and some light cleaning.

Other than continuing my thirty year journey of trying to lose weight without success since steroid treatment and multiple admissions to hospital with suspected heart attacks, asthma and panic attacks I'm unable to get any treatment my or above in how to deal with the liver problem.

I eat healthily based on the Mediterranean diet, I've never been a big drinker. I do take many prescribed medication for other health issues too. Id really lie to detox and not take any medication just natural health but some meds life long and have to take levothyroxine.

Anyone in same situation, advice welcome.

Best wishes for your best health x

I have fatty liver so sympathise with you. I'm not overweight and my BMI is well within healthy range l have always been slim l eat Mediterranean diet 90% of the time but still my liver fat is creeping up. In my case must be genetic 😥 has your consultant advised you ho you can help reduce the fat on your liver is it possibly the meds causing it ?

I was until I went zero carbohydrates nutrition six years ago and slowly lost 200 pounds. Liver fat went down and liver calmed down. Still stable. Overcoming my addiction to carbs took maybe two months, best move ever. Good luck to you.

I got rid of sugar And processed foods and the only carbs I eat come from vegetables, greens, and berries and a little fruit and nuts. I eat olive oil, Avocado oil, Salmon, Chicken breast, Other whitefish, Shrimp, And a little beef, bacon and pork. That is lean. I use cheese just a little bit. All real food, With the occasional sugar free sweet. It is sugar and processed food with chemicals that is destroying our livers. I went on this diet three months ago and my numbers are great. I eat lower carb mediterranean style diet. I also have worked up to intermittent fasting eighteen hours a day.

Hello, Laurie Rose……I too, had elevated Liver Stiffness scores with both Fibroscan & MRE both indicating F3- F4 ( cirrhosis) early stage

In the past I had abdominal surgery with scarring in my abdomen…..I went to a 3rd opinion (Hepatologist) he convinced me to put all this to bed, to do a Biopsy…. Just got my results …it is consistent with Early stage fibrosis F1 with mild fatty Liver (steatotis)

Please do it leave no stone unturned, keep looking for a specialist that will show you they care…Good Luck keep us posted

I hope that sugar was the culprit for me because I can go without for the most part as I'm doing now. It's hard for me to eat perfect all the time but I do the best I can. I have a natural lust for sweets but I'm doing well avoiding them lately....
