Nuts and fruit for fatty liver

Hi can eating nuts portion sized and fruits such as blueberries cause fatty liver to get worse?I have read some articles saying you should not eat any fruit with fatty liver do to fructose and nuts do to high in fat.I’ve lost 20 pounds since September and have been eating healthy and look forward to a handful of nuts at night with blueberries as a snack and now I’m worried I could have made it worse.I get my scans and ultrasound in the next two weeks and worried this could have made it worse.Any feedback would be great on eating fruit and nuts with fatty liver.

Nuts and fruits are recommended as part of a liver healthy diet. The fats tend to be healthy ones and the fructose in fruits is slowly released and processed by the gut so no liver concern. Good luck with your tests. Congrats on the weight loss.

Nuts and fruits are heart and liver healthy, though you can certainly mess that up if you’re adding sugar, or you mean eating them in processed foods. Nuts are full of healthy oils, and fruits like blue berries are well known for their antioxidants and nutrients. The closer you can get to eating whole foods the better, along with regular exercise. I eat blueberries and nuts too. The thing to be skeptical about are processed foods. At least in my experience. Good luck.👍🏻

Thank you for the feedback.I have been eating small 2 ounce portion of walnuts or pistachios and almonds with about a half cup of blueberries as a snack at night for a couple months now. Also an apple with some peanut butter or some other fruits like a orange or also dehydrated mango with no added sugar or oils to any of these foods for a snack during the day as well.I came across a coupe articles that said to avoid all fruits with fatty liver since it has fructose and the liver should have none.I eat a piece of dark chocolate as well sometimes.I was concerned when I read this and thought I could have made things worse.Thank you for the reassurance.

Like you, I've done the same....as have many I've read about, in my case stabilized my cirrhosis, my specialist said 'keep doing what you're doing', in the case of those I've read about, they've reversed their conditions. You're much better off doing what you're doing until proof from your tests shows you to do otherwise. Check out 'forks over knives' online, a number of people there by going vegan have reversed it! Best of luck to you.

Some berries are ok for reducing inflammationDried fruits are a no no as are smoothies

Limited pineapple for the bromelain also anti inflammatory but very sweet.

Blueberries great inmho and from what I've read. I'm not qualified fully but did some training in nutrition and pain relief with uni and I'd say berries ok but best not to have fruits high in sugar.

Cherries, berries are great in moderation.

So is dehydrated mango not good to eat for the liver?I have it once in awhile with a sprinkle of cayanne pepper.Should I not eat the blueberries every day?I also have kiwi sometimes as well.My ultrasound is on the 24th so we will see if anything improved.
