Constant pain in my abdominal area (all sides) have gotten progressively worse . No real diagnosis other than an enlarged fatty liver but the pain is beyond me . I’m beginning to feel pain where my spleen is which is a bad sign . Doctors won’t give me a straight answer and it feels like a vicious cycle of expenses and gaslighting. 3 years of imaging and blood tests . No doc wants to perform a biopsy out of fear of risk. This constant And chronic pain has me feeling alone and looking for a way out . No one gets me . Any advice or help world be appreciated . I’m lost and overwhelmed. Mood swings and physical pain are taking it’s toll .

I totally understand where you're coming from. I think we've actually spoken before on here due to some similar issues. I'm 5 years in, I don't drink anymore but still I have so many symptoms. Some cleared up after drinking but some have gotten worse. I've had blood tests, fibroscans, a CT scan, ultrasounds, an ELF test. All have been normal except my ELF (7.9) and one LFT which was 6 months ago but I've had a normal one since. My de ritis ratio though is 1.3 which says it's indicative of cirrhosis.

My symptoms are frightening at times, and at other times I've tried to live with them. I go between absolute fear and trying to get on with it as best as I can as what else can I do? Nobody wants to listen. And I get it, even people on here have told me I'm lucky and some making me feel like I'm a hypochondriac. And I understand somewhat as their diagnosis was straight forward but there are so many others like you and I that I've spoken to over the years on here. I've actually never had any other health complaints, just this that looms over me.

I've no real advice, just some solidarity!

Libby

I appreciate your feedback Liberty . It makes me feel that much less alone . The pain and discomfort can be disheartening to say the least . I try and stay positive but sometimes I just don’t have it in me . Between the discipline it takes to upkeep my all new and healthy lifestyle and life’s regular stresses , it’s hard to stay sane . Constant pain is just such a hindering to the spirit man lol

Deritis Ratio has nothing to do with diagnosing cirrhosis if they are in range, many things can bring ast over alt such as exercise and medicine.

Very insightful

Chronic pain is debilitating and can cause depression. I know firsthand the stress of not being able to get diagnosed or even get much guidance from your providers. Please stay with us! If you need to talk to someone, there is a national crisis line available, just by calling or texting TALK to 988. If you would rather speak to a peer than to a professional, you can request that, as well. I care.

I had a similar pain and had all the tests with no success. Going on 35 days of no relief, I sought out my gastroenterologist and set up an endoscopy procedure. Lo and behold the Doc comes in the recovery room and says “I found the source of your pain”! A duodenum ulcer.

Man I’m glad you found an answer to what Ales you . I also had an upper endoscopy done but only found slight reddening of the duodenum . Is the ulcer something you can clear up or do u have to live with it ?

It was caused by the H Pylori bacteria and the Doc prescribed two different antibiotics which I took for two weeks and no problems thereafter.

Hi 99, I am really sorry for all your pain but I do understand not getting a correct diagnosis. I had all kinds of test run but until I finally found a hepotoligist that understood the liver and was current on clinical trials and research, did I get answers. The gastroligist I had was willing to go with the worst results but because every test told a different story did the hepotoligist suggest the biopsy. Wasn't fun but so glad I did. Meanwhile, I would suggest you start researching. Get your medical notes and test results looking up the meanings. You will run into a lot words you can't even pronounce but look those up! Get yourself to the point where you can discuss results with your doctor knowing and understanding will help you in a big way. Unfortunately, you have to rely on yourself and fight, in some instances, for your own diagnosis but that gives you control and you won't feel as helpless. Good luck, keep us posted, we are always here!
