Bad day

Does anyone ever just get so mad that they are dealing with liver disease? I just want a big fat cheeseburger or some Mexican food. Some days are so easy then others are so hard.

Then have a cheeseburger! Burger-FI (and most others) have several options that are liver friendly. They have a classic veggy burger and two "beyond" or "impossible" plant based patties. Have that on your "cheat day". If you're very disciplined 6 days a week, you can cheat on day 7 and with options like this, is it really cheating? My liver specialist told me, 'you have to live'. If it's so miserable because you spend every single moment counting and measuring, it's not worth it. So have that 'burger'. Just maybe not the mexican food right now....... and fyi, if i really want to be decadent, there's a Lebanese restaurant i go to that has an amazing sampler appetizer platter that has hummus, grape leaves, fallafel and fatoosh. It's all plant based, Mediterranean and totally liver friendly. Choices.

Thank you for responding and giving me some advice. I will definitely look into plant based burgers. This is still all so new and I am coming up on a year that my mom passed away from non alcoholic cirrhosis and then to be told 7 months later that I have f3 fibrosis its so emotional. I'm still dealing with my mom's death and dealing with this with me is hard

I know exactly what you mean. My mom died from cirrhosis as well so it's extra scary for us. So to make you feel hopeful, I was told last summer i had F3 fibrosis. After recovering from the initial shock I became very disciplined and lost 10% of my weight and changed my diet. My follow up was last week and my values are back to normal. So this program can and does work. It can take up to a year, so be patient and don't give up.

Wow. That makes me very hopeful. That is wonderful you changed your numbers. I'm very happy for you. I hope I get my numbers down as well.
