Sharing MRE Results

Much appreciation to everyone that shares information to benefit all of us that unfortunately belong to this club. Therefore, I am sharing my history and current status. Diagnosed with NASH in 2014. Initially told F3, via biopsy. Later a retraction was made that stated the biopsy was faulty and a stage could not be determined. Fibroscans in 2017, 2019, 2020 were 4.3; 6.6(CAP 259); and 7.0 (CAP 230); respectively.

Took a MRE on 6 Jan 21 with the following results:

Range of liver stiffness values throughout entire liver: 1.6 to 2.3 kPa.

Average liver stiffness throughout entire liver: 1.9 kPa, which is not compatible with fibrosis.

Are there areas of focal fibrosis (stiffness values above background liver) that are at least the size of one hepatic segment Yes

If yes, describe location and stage of fibrosis: Focal areas in segment 2 and 3 of the liver with kPa greater than 2.5, suggestive of normal or inflammation.

Reference values:

= 2.5 kPa normal

>2.5-3 kPa normal or inflammation

>3-3.5 kPa stage 1-2 fibrosis

>3.5-4 kPa stage 2-3 fibrosis

>4-5 kPa stage 3-4 fibrosis

> 5 kPa stage 4 to cirrhosis

FAT QUANTIFICATION:

The average liver fat content percentage calculated using a two-point Dixon technique is: 4 %, which is not compatible with fatty liver.

Nash2 thank you so much and most of all for the the information you provide when doctors are not forthcoming with information. A note on the report also identified that I have mild deposits of iron in the liver so I will have to follow that up. I believe you were also diagnosed with that issue at one time.
