Scheduling a Hysterectomy with Fatty Liver? Pain medicine question

It looks like my bad pain is uterine fibroids and they found fatty and enlarged liver by chance. I am now concerned about pain medication with having a fatty liver. ultrasound does say normal in countour and no mass. Advice

Hepatologists say acetaminophen, no more than 2,000 mg per day but you want to discus liver toxicity with your docs. It would be a good idea to get a good diagnosis of the liver as ultrasound isn't very good for defining the situation. That will help understand how risky other meds might be for you.

Ask for meds that do not go through the liver. They are not quite as good as the others, but if it doesn't hurt the liver your much better off. They not to take them as much as they tell you. I have back and hip surgery within a year. My liver could not take all the meds and it would shut down my whole body. Ended up in the ER twice they could not really figure it out, but it was the trauma on the liver from the meds. Good Luck.
