My symptoms and journey have been almost textbook to yours. Most of my issues just started. I have the same: normal bloodwork but several symptoms of liver disease but just told fatty liver disease.

I believe this is becoming more common. Go on a liver diet—fruits and vegetables, low sugar/carbs, no red meats. You should see at GI and have more tests to check your blood vessels. I’ve done that, and my stomach is just like yours (it look like I wrote it but didn’t). I also have special needs children and terrified of the thought of leaving them.

All you can do is refer to GI/Heptalogy (referred to them after demanding but haven’t seen hepatologist myself yet; a liver biopsy/fluid removal can only confirm the progression of the liver) and baby your liver. Try to start cutting out unnecessary drugs or ones rough on the liver (NO OTC meds like ibuprofen or Tylenol, ever), one at a time.

I’m working with Mayo, and I still have no answers. I go back tomorrow to look at these ascites via ultrasound that were not there on a CT 6 weeks ago but popped up on my ER CT over the weekend). They just deal with the complications as they arise, it’s up to you to stay alive as long as you can with life style changes.

With Empathy,

Lisa

I don't have any answers for you, but I just want to say you have my prayers and my empathy and to never give up searching for answers. Above all turn to God and ask for his help and peace to get you through this...and believe that you WILL get through this. Everyday I pray to Jesus about everything and give him everything that I am worried about so that I can at least make it through the day allowing myself to not constantly worry. These Dr's sure don't know everything, and blow a lot of people off. Unfortunately, that means we have to keeps seeking help elsewhere. I am in limbo, in between doctors and am receiving no care for my liver, even though I should. Liver specialists are hard to find and I know the 1st thing there gonna wanna do is biopsy and I am terrified of that. All we can do is the best we can do, keep searching for answers and give God the rest. If you look through these posts I know that there is going to be a webinar today on fatty liver disease and you might want to watch that. God be with you.

So sorry you are going through this. My blood tests were fine also but I had many of the symptoms you mention. My liver has shown up on ultrasound as being very stiff and enlarged. What you would be told is no medicine for this but changing your diet works. Diet and exercise. The idea is to give your liver the least amount of work that you can. My visual is an old 'I love Lucy'...where she's at a cake factory assembly line and gets behind, cakes flying everywhere, piling up and falling all over. That's what my liver - guys- are doing!!!!. So I've got to make their job easier! You can find a lot of good information on this site for diet changes. Eat simpler....standard dinner for me is:. Broiled chicken breast, cup of quinoa mixed with brown rice,. Broccoli and a small salad with olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing. No chips, popcorn, pizza, fried food, pasta, greasy hamburgers. Soups are good. Stay away from white bread .. cut out sugar. I use Stevia. You can drink a couple cups of coffee a day, is good for liver. No pop. It's not easy but it's your life and you can do it!

Perhaps b12 and thiamine? Malabsorption? Numbness tingling, weakness dizziness slight jaundice . Extreme fatigue.. all can be caused by low levels. Even permanent neurological damage. I get b12 and B-Complex shots to bypass my digestive issues.
