Hi Krissy

Can't say that I know anything about tongues, so can't be helpful. I'm a cirrhosis patient

Krissy I have both NAFLD and Hemochromatosis yes my tongue started acting strange a couple of years ago. My gastroenterologist started me on an over the counter vitamin called Lysine . I take it daily and it has helped immensely. I can actually tell when I forget to take it. Please don't take it without asking your Dr first. I went away for a couple days and forgot to put it in my pillcase.

Thank you for the response I really appreciate it. I was told by an oral consultation that it’s inflammation signalling a problem further down and now that my liver is an issue I was wondering if that was what is affecting my tongue. I will look into that vitamin thanks 😊

I know this is from a thyroid site but I found it helpful and hope that you do too. hypothyroidmom.com/what-you...

Lysine is an essential amino acid, you can get it in Holland and Barrett etc. I needed B12, B complex, folate, zinc etc, but also needed to get off foods causing my underlying food sensitivities - gluten and dairy in my case.

Are forums like this of any value to patients really?
