Diagnosed with “mild” NASH

is it true that if I have NASH all I should or can do is lose weight and not worry too much? I got no other advice from my GI’s physician assistant! Not asking for medical advice, just clarification. Thanks!

Hi Brianswife NASH means that the liver cells are being killed so you need to stop that. Diet and weight are your main tools. The first goal is to stop inflammation by stopping alcohol, sugar, and saturated fat and anything else that hurts the liver. Then you eat better to lose weight and exercise. NASH is serious at any stage as it will progress so you need to stop it before you have problems. This is a link that might help

Thanks thank you so much for the reply and link, Nash2! I’ve found so much helpful information on the site and have begun tracking sodium and sat fat in addition to calories. Now I need to get this old body moving!!

It isn't easy but I have been able to improve my stage 4 cirrhosis to a stage 3 fibrosis. It has taken 3 years but you are not helpless
