I'm coming to to my 3rd shot of zoladex next week but for the last 5 weeks I've had 3 periods and all have been a week long. I had 5 days respite between 2 and my current period. I'm currently on day 7 and is not letting up, so don't know how much longer this 3rd will go on for. They aren't light, they are gross... if you get what I mean... I'm exhausted!!!! My ferritin levels a few weeks ago was at 25. I know I don't absorb iron well anyway, this is hereditary. I'm seeing a private consultant next month but until then, I keep getting told everything will get better and i feel like my GP is fed up of me complaining. Is this amount of bleeding normal?
(I'm on HRT 2x estrogen pumps and 2x progesterone pills) I'm also permanently tender in my lower abdomen around my ovaries

Hi, I was exactly the same. I bled non stop from 29th December to the end of March. I was hemorrhaging daily and had to wear pads loke nappies. Then it started to work. I'm on the same HRT as you too - which could be the problem if youre on it for endometriosis and bleeding. I would ask for the 3 month shot which seems stronger at first. It is exhausting- being anaemic is awful. Keep going and get a course of tranexamic acid to give you some relief. Good luck x
thank you for your reply and reassurance. I'll speak to the nurse about the constant bleeding. I'm not sure I'll be allowed to have something which helps blood to clot (mother had a pulmonary embolism caused by the pill) maybe get an iron shot. I'm looking forward to seeing the Bupa consultant as I don't think zoladex is right for me. But maybe it will get better as it did for you x (yep endo)
I didn't think it was going to work but on the Facebook page lots of women experience this, and told me it takes 3 months. I also came off provera and on to utrogestan which I think made it worse. Give it another month xxx
thank you ❤️ if I'm still not good by the end of this month, its good I'll be seeing a consultant then. I'm so tired of being tired. You've put my mind at rest a bit so thank you xxx
