Hiya all,I was wondering anyone could help. I had my endometriosis surgery on the 30th June and the first week was fine healing etc. Second week started ok but the sitches werent dissolving. So I called the Gyno where I had my operation and told me could be 6 weeks
Now my belly button area got infected and currently on antibiotics. Weren't very nice and started to discharge and smell
I didnt feel unwell but just worried how long it will take. I can't really sleep on my sides and lay down on the front.
The sitches finally come off but it looks really sore and red and dark inside. Does this mean it is healing and how long can it be before belly button returns normal. I can't even see my belly button like i used too! Scared something gone wrong.

I had the same problem. Infection built up at my belly button. It finally burst and I had to have several courses of antibiotics and had to go to the outpatient nurse every other day to have it cleaned and dressed.
I felt really ill at the time, but that may have been the antibiotics! It took its time, but eventually it all healed up, thankfully. I’m left with quite a bit of hard tissue around the site.
As I sleep on my back, sleeping wasn’t a problem! But it must be awful if that doesn’t work for you.
So stick it out and I do hope you’re feeling much better about things soon.
BUT do get it checked out - just to be sure that all is well.
Hi sorry you are having a rough ride with your recovery, lt might be an idea to make an appointment with your clinical nurse at your GP, she/he will be able to give you some help and perhaps give you some anti biotic cream to use if that is necessary, wishing you well on your recovery
I had the same issues with dissolvable stitches - I spotted the infection quite early so was given a 7 days course of antibiotics. On the last day today and it’s cleared up already. You are doing everything right - if you are still feeling unsure then take some of the ladies suggestions below
