Has anyone else had to go for a colposcopy after an abnormal smear test? I'm only 23 so wasn't due to be called in for my first smear test until I turn 25 but due to unexplained bleeding my GP did one just to make sure. Unfortunately it came back abnormal so in 2 weeks I have a colposcopy scheduled to double check everything is okay.
I'm sure it will be fine but I'm quite anxious because of how quickly things are moving. Normally even with abnormal test results, I still end up having to wait a few months for scans for checks etc. I haven't been diagnosed with endo yet as I'm still on the waiting list for my laparoscopy so I'm not really sure what to expect. Can abnormal cervical bleeding be related to endo?

I have had colposcopy and following laser treatment 8 years ago. I am pretty sure it is related to my Endo cos it is inside vagina as well. I have had HPV positive last year .This time GP said just wait a year and redo smear test, which came clear.
Every time! Each smear would come back 'inconclusive ' and I would be very uncomfortable with pain and they'd just keep going and I just said enough is enough, this was all before I was diagnosed with endometriosis thats spread to bladder and rectum, I learned this when I was diagnosed in 2018. I'm 45 now so lord knows what it's spread to since. I'm in Ireland so I'm used to the medical world being clueless but when I lived in London the G.U.M clinic was just marvellous for smears wish they'd had a clinic in Ireland. I had to fight for referral to a gynaecologist here and insist on surgery and get as many opinions as possible until you find someone who will help you
