Has anyone been diagnosed with Endo after menopause?? I'm being told by gynecology that if your not bleeding ie menstrual cycle you can't have endo but this isn't what research says, I know it's rare but can still happen, I'm so confused 😪😪

I haven’t personally (only 23) but you can definitely get Endo after menopause. I think you need to seek another opinion.

I concur with the other posters, this is hogwash and you need a second opinion.

Firstly, endometriosis has been found to proudce its own oestrogen, so it doesn't require a working system to produce. This is why hysterectomy and menopause are NOT cures for endo, and why some women have been left with pain after the barbaric practice of removing her womb young. Endometriosis cells have been found in foetuses, and in one case a woman post hysterectomy age 73 had active new endo growth. Any doctor claiming that endo is cured by menopause or hysterectomy is showing their inexperience, avoid avoid avoid.

I massively recommend pushing for a second opinion with someone more knowledgeable :)

My mother in her late 50s st the time needed a cyst on one of her ovaries removing. The surgeon in the follow up notes said it was surprising to have found active endo tissue in a post-menopausal woman. It definitely does happen and you need to get another opinion! Good luck x

Did you manage to find a helpful second opinion JoJo. Just asking, as I'm in a similar position.

Hi JoJo, I'm in the same boat, I'm 55 post menopausal with all the symptoms, also ultrasound picked up a blood filled cyst in my vagina, my gynecologist said this is impossible because I'm post menopausal, I'm so confused and in constant pain, I'm waiting for mri results. Did you ever manage to get sorted.
