i think ig the pain eases they. Know that they are treating the correct diagnosis.
I wS told this x
Hi, they do seem to use it as a diagnostic tool! If the pain eases then it must be a gynae thing, if not then it could be something else. An endo expert told me it doesn't always work even if it is a gynae problem, but everyone else was very black and white about it. It seems they don't always prepare people well for what happens with GnRHa treatment - it is likely your pain will massively increase for the first month or so of treatment and then, fingers crossed, it will improve. So please don't panic if you're in the early bit of treatment and think it's not going to work!
this is a really outdated view. It’s when these injections were used as a diagnostic tool but they just aren’t reliable. Also they tend to help endo if it’s mild (but again it doesn’t help everyone and can help those with v severe endo). They don’t usually help adenomyosis which is when endo has affected the uterus muscle itself and it’s this (adenomyosis) that a hysterectomy would help so it really isn’t any indication of a hyster will help or not!! And mri or transvaginal ultrasound with a specialist at detecting endo would be more likely to tell you if you have adenomyosis and whether a hysterectomy would help.
