Hello, I had rectovaginal excision and both of my ureters freed from endo over 3 weeks now. I am wondering if anyone has had this and has any idea on how long recovery is? 💛

Rectovaginal Endometriosis excision and Ureterolysis
They say to give a good 6 months to know if it has made a difference but there will be some who see improvement much sooner. If you are in England and had it on the NHS you would be discharged from the endo centre after 6 months if you have no ongoing issues but should be sent a questionnaire at 12 and 24 months.
Hello 5M9H
It's good to hear from you. I hope your surgery went smoothly and your recovery is going okay so far? I had rectovaginal excision and right ureterolysis, over 3 years ago now, during my diagnostic laparoscopy.
I think recovery time is different for everyone. For me, I was still very much recovering at the 3 week mark! I remember trying to drive and it being very painful still. After I had had two periods following the laparoscopy, things improved a lot (so, 6-8 weeks?). Beginning gradually with exercising such as gentle walking, getting outside and eating healthily can all help your body to recover and gain strength at the same time.... gradually building up to what you would have been doing exercise-wise pre-surgery. Listen to your body and try not to push its limits too soon!
Hope you're feeling much better, sending healing vibes your way 💛
Take care,
Claudia
I had a fairly similar surgery and it was six months for me to feel 'normal' with all swelling gone down. Hopefully not as long for you, but remember to be kind to yourself and don't push it as you'll set yourself back more (talking from experience :)) x
