Prostap Injection
Hi Ziyahaze, I’ve been on both zoladex and Prostap. I much preferred zoladex but the downside it has to be administered by a nurse. I only experienced hot flushes and vaginal dryness, but none of the other side affects that are common (low mood).
With Prostap, I unfortunately experienced frequent bleeding throughout the course (3 months) and still had (anovulatory) periods. Very strange. My gynae said it’s uncommon but that they were not worried. The positives were; less frequent hot flushes, able to self-administer the injection.
Hope that helps!
Hey Ziyahaze
I’ve been on Prostrap for 6 months. The nurse administered mine at the hospital every 3 months (injection into the stomach muscle).
I had a few days of night sweats/ hot flushes when I first started the injections, but they went away after that and I’ve had no other side effects.
For me the injection massively helped my endo symptoms - I had horrendous bowel problems and these completely stopped about 2 weeks after the injection which I am so happy about. Also another bonus is no periods!
I’m only on the injections until my surgery (happening next week) as it’s meant to shrink the growths and make it easier to operate on.
I’d definitely recommend it but just bear in mind it’s different for everyone. X
