Telephone Appointment

Hi guys, has anyone had a telephone appointment with the Gynae? I had one a couple of weeks ago and they agreed the only way to start sorting it out is through a lap. Everything was ok, emotional because I’ve been waiting so long but anyway, the week before last I ended up in hospital, severe pain in my right side (as usual), I couldn’t pass urine and I was in major pain. The doctors there told me that they would speak with the Gynae to get things moving quicker. I ended up with a catheter fitted just to pass urine. No infection, no nothing so I don’t know why this was happening. Over the past month I’ve been waking up with abdominal pains and having painful bowel movements. (I’ve had a colonoscopy in the past, all the tests and it’s not IBS or Celiacs). My abdominal pain is horrendous and 3 days after being in hospital I ended up heavily bleeding (randomly). Anyway, the doctors called this morning and want me to have another consultation with the Gynae tomorrow, I explained I’ve already had one and they said they can’t disclose any information. I can’t go to the hospital because of COVID but I’m worried they’re phoning again because they’ve overlooked my last appointment I had and I could end up back to the bottom of the waiting list! I’m so stressed!

I had a gynae face to face appointment before lockdown, and then a specialist over the phone during lockdown so it could be that the gynae have passed you on to an endo specialist? I didn’t know they had passed me on until the consultant explained on the phone appointment - she was honestly amazing and I’m so glad I got to speak to her x

If you have time jot down symptoms and questions you have. It could just be because of A&E and checking on things. This could easily be a good thing, we go through so much with this condition and in turn distrust what’s going to happen.

Let us know how it goes.

Demand an answer don’t take no for an answer, if they won’t listen take your self to AnE and don’t leave u til they can help you and get your gynae to see you that way.

Why can’t you go into the hospital? I’ve been quite w few times these past few months, I’m having surgery on the 12th

, as long as you have a mask and clean and antibac a lot you can go in for face to face appointment.

Don’t let them forget you name, keep calling and houding them till you get some answers. Your dr can write to them too and tell them what’s going on still and how bad it’s getting.

Good luck feel better soon
