Hi guys,

I’ve been reading a lot the last few days as we reflect on our condition during March ( the Endometriosis awareness month ) and have come across the drug ORILISSA. Apparently it is only been stocked in the US but has been termed the ‘miracle drug’ for treating Endometriosis. Has anyone else come across this or has their GP’s/Specialists mentioned it.

From what I’ve seen you can purchase it but at $524 for a 28 day supply and states a prescription is required. Excuse me if I’m being naive but if this is ‘it’ what is the UK waiting for?

Hi that’s interesting, never heard of it before. I can only assume the reason it’s not here is because of cost, as $524 seems quite expensive for a months supply. This is maybe why we don’t have it here / haven’t been offered it. In my experience it appears that you get offered a prescription for the “cheaper” drug and when that doesn’t seem to work they go onto the more expensive.

It would be wonderful if we got a miracle drug to help us feel better 🤩💕

Glad to see that endo and adeno is awareness month and have noticed more in the press about our condition/s x

Hi

So it's a grnh. Which are available in the UK but usually in the form of an injection such as zodalex, and lupron. And it comes with the same list of side effects as these do. So it's not actually a new thing just a new way of delivering it from my understanding.
