Endometriosis in the bowel symptoms??

Hi ladies could any of you kindly advise me of the symptoms you have with Endometriosis within/on the bowel?

I have stage 4 endo and ando and have been told I have IBS but I’m convinced it’s endo related as I’ve tried gluten free and Fodmaps and many herbal and traditional medications but nothing seems to help.

I look pregnant from the swelling and since starting bio identical hormones since having one ovary removed it has got worse.

I’m due to have a hysterectomy but nobody will investigate my bowel first? Do you know if endo shows up on a colonoscopy?

Hi there, I have endo in my pouch of Douglas which is classed as bowel endo. I was misdiagnosed with IBS for years! Had a colonscopy and nothing was picked up, it was only picked up in my laparoscopy. I was wrongly placed with a gastroenterologist instead of a gynae for years too, as the majority of my symptoms all point to bowel issues but it was endo all along! 1 day I'll have diarroeah and go to the toilet more than 5 times a day then the next I can't go at all, I have HUGE bloating issues where I cannot fit into any of my normal clothes. Like you, I tried every diet but nothing makes a difference although low fibre keeps the diarroeah at bay on those bad days . Hope this helps, good luck with everything x

Thank you - I’ve asked for an mri of my bowel today so we shall see what happens? So what treatment have they offered if any? X

Hopefully the MRI will help you to find answers. I had ablasion on my endo and I have to take the contraceptive pill continuously but no such luck with managing my symptoms. I am seeing a specialist next week so fingers crossed I'll know more myself too! Good luck x
