I have been advised to take Prostap, but I'm in a bad way before taking it and I know it's going to make me worse (at first- I have been warned) I am paying privately, can I not just jump straight into laparoscopy? Or do I still have to wait? I have emailed my consultant and have been warned she might not respond until next week! xx

Looking for yet more advice, Prostap
Hi there
Everyone is different in how they respond. You may have a bad period or like me it may stop everything and significantly reduce your pain! The consultant may want to try this before the op as it helps reduce the endo and apparently makes surgery more straightforward. However it may be that they want to ‘prove’ that it is endo by seeing how you respond to Prostap. Good luck with what ever you decide. X
hi. For me prostap was brilliant, I know it makes alot of people very poorly but it gave me my life back and my body time to recover from the major surgery I had. Is the consultant you are seeing an endometriosis specialist? Have you had surgery before? They take an overall view as what's best for you ( I had the surgery first due to cysts) and the prostap for 6 months after. Are you taking anything to help with the pain? Xx
I have never had a lap but they know I have endo because I had it removed from perineum a few years ago. I'm having bowel problems which I think is endo, NHS give my gynos which don't know much about endo so I paid to see a specialist and she said to take Prostap as I will have to before op if I decide to anyway. I have messaged the specialist asking if I can have op first. I have seen bad reviews for Prostap but am going to try it anyways! I'm hoping they can administer it in my bum as I don't fancy it in stomach! Did you have hrt too? How was your surgery? I'm dreading my first lap xx
