Hi Everyone!

I have just joined this Community and am also in the Liver Community. I have had Type 2 Diaberes for at least 20 years - haven’t anything more than a feeling as to when first diagnosed. As usual, I suppose ?, it was controlled by diet moving on to Metformin. When I had my liver transplant in August last year (5 months and 2 days ago - you never forget the date 👍) Metformin was stopped rapid whatsits insulin started and large ? doses of Humilin introduced I (I don’t know what a large dose is 🤔) . The rapid one is now dropped and down to only 12 units a day of Humilin I.

Has anyone else been through this sort of process please, and how long (rough idea obviously!) does it take to get back on just metformin. Obviously I would like to drop the Insulin ASAP because of the two hour test yourself BSL test driving requirement!
