Have you talked to your doctor about the swelling? What are your blood sugars? When was your last doctor’s appointment? Are you on any medication? Some medication can cause side effects/symptoms.

I am a diabetics since last 5 years, my sugar count are 120-130/170-195 and I am using Zemer P2 and Oxramet SXR (one tab each daily) and Triolmigest 40 tab for HBP.

Recently, I met with an accident and have some injuries in my left leg, Xray says all is ok, since then my left leg have swelling and feeling some pain.

Kindly advice please

Hello,

Thank you, your accident may have given many delayed reaction issues therefore a doctor is the best person to look into the damage caused by the accident to your left leg.

Are you able to walk, get up from the chair or sit down without help.? May be using locally produce oil rub can help?

In UK for my hip and leg problem X-RAY do not show any issues but I live with pain, a private MRI is expensive in UK.

May be you can ask for MRI. Left leg, your swelling is it the upper leg or lower leg below the knee? Is the read sensitive to touch and hot ?

Please write down all the issues you see every day for 2 weeks and do to a doctor to discuss the problem in detail.

Take care.

Please use a support bandage, "CS Medic Elastic Ankle Sprain Injury Compression Support Bandage" this may help to walk. It can take time for your angle to heal.

Sir,I am also diabetic but I have tried two things for the swelling in the ankles.First while sitting on a chair/sofa,keep your legs on the table for at least two hours [using this time to reading/mobile etc] the swelling goes away.If the swelling is due to some injury, then take lump of rock salt, rub delicately on the swelling for 5-10 minutes three four times in a day.The swelling will go away without any medicine. This is my own experience.Be safe and healthy.

In UK, NHS, do not do MRI, X-ray do not always show problems. People like live with pain all the life, we walk with pain. Headache, pain killer clears it in 2-4 hours.

Muscle pain body, some time even strong pain do not clear the pain!!

MRI can show problems, X-RAY miss it.

NHS protocol, do routine blood test but not all problems are in the routine blood test.

May be doctor is right person to identify. Any internal organs problem is related to swelling of leg. My leg always swells due to filareia

leg swelling is water retention may be due to higher BP or low blood protein… May subside due to gravity if you put your legs on high pillows while sleeping. If BP is on bit higher side, reducing intake of table salt may help. Consult your doctor.

Oedema, as fluid retention, often visible around the shins & ankles, may be caused by/associated with persistently high insulin levels ( - the more common form of 'T2D' . . . of which 'T2DM' is the less prevalent sub-group).

Great exploration of 'HI' ( - hyperinulinemia) in the ytbe vid: 'The Bittersweet Truth' by Dr P Jamnadas. Worth a careful study . . . ! 😊

. . . the appropriate dietary approach, with attention to meal frequency reduces HI, . . . & therefore generally its range of symptoms !
