Hi Kvpp ,

I’m a person who has type 1 Diabetes. I’ve had Diabetes 30+ years and I use two types of insulin, a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) system and I follow a low carb high protein and gluten free diet to keep the blood sugars even throughout the day and evening hours.

For right now, I do exercise by walking up and down steps to get my numbers to keep in range.

When was your last appointment with the doctor?

My sister is 13years old ..she got admitted in hospital last week and doctors said type1 diabetic.(HbA1c -13.9)

I’m sorry to hear that about your sister. What did the doctor at the hospital say her blood sugar was when the A1c was done? 13.9% is high for a result. Are they having her start counting carbs. with insulin?

Dear Kvpp

Sorry to see your plight

I hope the hospital is a good reputed one.

Based upon HBA1c, one can not conclude that she is type-1..

There are many other tests to confirm and reconfirm whether it is Type 1 or Type 1.5 ( also known as LADA) or Type 2.

The following tests are required to be done:

(1) A GAD test is a blood test which measures whether the body is producing a type of antibody which destroys its own GAD cells. In type 1 diabetes, a number of autoantibodies are thought to circulate including those which target glutamic acid decarboxylase. Presence of these autoantibodies suggests type 1 diabetes.

(2) C- Peptide test which will indicate to what extent the pancreas beta cells are secreting insulin or not.

(3)Fasting insulin levels in the blood before she is put on insulin shot

Please go through this link below to understand the difference between Type 1, Type 1.5- LADA or Type 2.

So first she needs to be properly diagnosed. Now since she is in hospitals, talk to your doctor to do a proper diagnosis.

And please follow their advice!

If it is type 1, unfortunately it is not reversible. She needs to be on Insulin life long.

However, there are treatments available through proper diet , the insulin amount can be reduced to a great extent and she can live her full life.

Activity 2004 Nice to note that your blood sugar is under control by various means and one such being claiming up and down stairs. I noted somewhere that doing anti gravitational excise such as claiming stairs, keeping both the hands upwards at 90 degrees and raising for 20 times etc gives better results. I also read , if I am right in NEJM, that walking 10 minutes after BF, LUNCH and Dinner gives better results than walking 30 minutes at a stretch

Stay safe and stay healthy

Nature is not kind to those suffering from Type 1 diabetes. They will need constant medical attention and should be extremely careful with their health. Fortunately, medical science has advanced significantly in the recent past and she should be able to lead a near-normal life with proper medical care. This forum will be helpful for you to get the necessary clarifications.

Hello Dear. Yes Definitely. It's possible to reverse diabetes safely with natural medicines. I was a Type 2 diabetic. I used certain natural medications and diets. Diabetes fully reversed successfully. Please consult at the following link:

***links removed***

Moreover, apart from the above consultation, diet from the above links, please add organic moringa powder and supplements of Nitric Oxide to your daily consumption routine. The moringa powder produces miraculous results in lowering blood sugar. I have tested it on myself.

If the above diet and supplements are used on daily basis then one will be forced to reduce the dose of medicines and will be forced to leave medicines altogether in the long run. My Hb1 Ac reached 10 and now with intermittent fasting, moringa powder and diets prescribed in the above links, the Hb1Ac is less than 6 without any medicine. I wish you all the best and pray that you will reverse your diabetes successfully. But, please try to leave any non-vegeterian food, milk (unless it is coming from A2 milk protein such as from Indian cow), processed food and white sugar or stevia. Instead of white sugar, stevia or other artificial sweeteners, you can use jaggery or jaggery powder. Follow properly the above solutions. If you face any difficulty, you can reach to me. Thank You.

Dear tejvir

I do completely agree with you as far as type 2 is concerned, because I am type 2 and I have been following something similar to you and I found a vast improvement in my overall health parameters which I post from time to time .

But Dear, I am not very sure about Type 1 reversal , though I am sure about reducing insulin by half for type 1's, as I have seen in another forum , people reducing insulin by 60-85% through change diet and exercise.

The problem with type 1's is only one thing "mental block"- unfortunately so and it is created by our medical fraternity ! 🙏

It is like an elephant story ....a baby elephant during its childhood is tied with a rope in the trunk by its owner so that it does not run away, then it becomes a practice from childhood and when it becomes an adult elephant, the rope is removed and now the elephant is free from the bondage ...but in spite of that , it does not run away...it thinks it is still tied to the rope- mental block and it is our own doctors who creates a mental block in type 1's. These doctors find an easy solution - insulin which should be the last resort.

Type 1's unfortunately never explore ways and means ....they feel they are destined to lead the life as it is ..they also read a lot that they can not become insulin free.

In many advanced countries, the allopathy doctors practise wellness clinics and they treat type'1's in a naturopathy way and what they find is antibodies attack its own body GAD cells and Type 1 disease gets triggered by some particular food...so they treat type 1's by a process called diet elimination....they find out what particular foods triggers the auto immune response and they eliminate that particular food from the diet ..and type 1's see marked improvement and few people are able to reverse..it is a process by which they identify the type of antibody- there are 4 autoantibodies are markers of beta cell autoimmunity in type 1 diabetes: islet cell antibodies (ICA, against cytoplasmic proteins in the beta cell), antibodies to glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD-65), insulin autoantibodies (IAA), and IA-2A, to protein tyrosine phosphatase[2]. Unfortunately , these antibody tests are bit costly and indian doctors rarely order for testing. For them, it is easy to put the people on insulin and solve a problem to some extent.

By the way, I eat a lot of adequate fresh Moringa leaves green with moong dal- it is a delicacy for me..I planted a couple of trees near my house and it grew wild and gives me a lot of leaves and drum sticks...but I never taken moringa dry powder, though I know organic india makes organic dry Moringa powder.

What about your nitric oxide supplement....? Which one are you taking ? I do take beet juice and spinach which has nitrates to produce Nitric oxide.

I do IF for 14-15 hours

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is sometimes the first sign of type 1 diabetes in people who have not yet been diagnosed. It can also occur in someone who has already been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Infection, injury, a serious illness, missing doses of insulin shots, or the stress of surgery can lead to DKA in people with type 1 diabetes.

HOMA-IR tells you how much insulin your body needs to keep your blood sugar levels in check. This test was designed to measure insulin resistance, an early stage of type 2 diabetes that increases your risk of many chronic diseases.
