Don't stop taking your meds without seeking medical advice from your GP or Diabetes Nurse Specialist. It's wise to follow medical guidance first.

Type 2 diabetes can be controlled by diet and exercise in initial stages. About 60% of patients on monotherapy, may have worsening metabolic control during the first 5 years of therapy and concurrent use of 2 or more medications with different mechanisms of action, may be necessary. The American Diabetes Association (ADA) recommends that persons, whose HbA1c is 9% or more, require dual therapy. Treatment includes education to help you understand the nature of diabetes, your treatment options and the need for regular follow up.
