My son is diagnosed Augus2019. Doctor say insulin dependent diabetes.and can be T1d diabetes. What do i ??

Does the doctor have your son on a sliding scale for insulin doses? Are you counting the carbs. for your son's meals and/or snacks? How many times a day does he do insulin shots? What does he have for breakfast, lunch and dinner? What are his blood sugars during the day and evening? Did the doctor suggest to look into getting a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) system?

I'm a type 1 Diabetic and use a CGM. I also count carbs. and take insulin a few times a day. I also eat low carb. high protein along with a gluten free diet to control my blood sugars during the day and evenings when I sleep.

Thanks sir, I give him insulin four time and tracking his bg daily in glucometer.or control his bg. I give him low GI food.and carbs.

What does his doctor say about his blood sugars? What was the A1c?

Sir, his 1st a1c chacked August 2019 then was 10.90. and in November 2019 chacked A1c was 8.40

Would it be possible to give more information? Age, blood test results numbers. Any medication, type of insulin and dosage. Many people have controlled diabetes, type 1 and type 2. UK prime minister May is type 1, has a patch to do continuous monitoring to take medication. Many sports people have also achieved gold medals.

What is important is controlling food and drinks intake.
