Today only I read in news paper that a vial of insulin which was available in RS.63/ only now cost 17000/[yes seventeen thousand] and controlled by three pharma companies....Nordisk,Sanofi,Eli Lilly and they have the market of two lakh crore.This is the reason for manipulating parameters of fbs/ppbs

I just checked on 1mg and with my local chemist prices are same as they were before. Can you link an article or something because if this is true there is gonna be a huge health crisis in India really really soon

The news I read relates to prices in America and not in India

You just can't compare US n Indian prices. Glyxambi which is no1 drug costs about 190$ for a pack of three in US whereas its available at 9$ in India that too because it's patented now.

Sir,I just wanted to say how multinational pharmaceutical cos. manipulate various parameters to dump their products.Not only in diabetes but other parameters also,today they say something and after a couple of years they say something else,with the connivance of doctors who are on their payroll and they prescribe only costly medicines whereas a much cheaper generic is available in market.

Absolutely. I agree. If generic medicine available then better to go for it. But no options in patented medicine.

Sir,even in patented medicines,there is big loot....for example just check the price of AritelAm and ozotelAM,both having Telemistran 40 mg and Amlodipine 5 mg as base drug.
