I have been a diabetic as well as BP patient since nearly 2000. I am 54 male. Work in Govt. I take obimet SR 500 for sugar and enam 5mg for BP daily morning. Last week's test show RBS 146 and PPBS 205. The tablets are taken since the last 6 years. Your precious opinions. I do exercises irregularly. My wt. is 55kg.

You should give more importance to low carbohydrate diet, aerobic exercise and diabetes education.

Metformin (generic name) Obimet (brand name) is used alone or with other medications, including insulin, to treat type 2 diabetes (condition in which the body does not use insulin normally and, therefore, cannot control the amount of sugar in the blood). Metformin is in a class of drugs called biguanides. Metformin helps to control the amount of glucose (sugar) in your blood. It decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the amount of glucose made by your liver. Metformin also increases your body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood.

Enalapril (generic name) Enam (brand name) is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It is also used in combination with other medications to treat heart failure. Enalapril is in a class of medications called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It works by decreasing certain chemicals that tighten the blood vessels, so blood flows more smoothly and the heart can pump blood more efficiently.

High blood pressure is a common condition, and when not treated it can cause damage to the brain, heart, blood vessels, kidneys, and other parts of the body. Damage to these organs may cause heart disease, a heart attack, heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, loss of vision, and other problems. In addition to taking medication, making lifestyle changes will also help to control your blood pressure. These changes include eating a diet that is low in fat and salt, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising at least 30 minutes most days, not smoking, and using alcohol in moderation.

Thank you, Sir. I should like to know whether anxiety medications will reduce the working of Obimet (SR) 500 and Enam 5mg. I have been facing anxiety for the last 20 years and no medicines are taken continuously. Many types of medicines like, Chlonotril, Rivotril, Petril, Lonacepam, etc. were had. At present I am given Etirest 0.5mg one daily (prescribed), but taking 1, only when need arises. I should like to get your precious reply whether the unexpected fatigue and tiredness with sweating (slightly) while traveling or outside home will result into any danger? If so what are the precautions and remedies?

No. You don't need to change medicines. You need to change diet. If you go on taking high carb diet your ir will increase over years and you will need to change medicine and or dosage ultimately insulin and that too go on changing insulin brands and dosages.

Lchf is the answer. You can become drugfree.

Try yoga and other means for your anxiety. Anxiolytics tend to get adapted. You need more dose or stronger drugs. Will affect your body negatively.

Once you adopt lchf diet and control your bs your blood pressure also get controlled.
