Fbs,Ppbs readings and age

A doubt whether fbs,ppbs readings are related with age.

FBS, PPBS readings are not related to the age of the patient.

I agree.But problems like arthritis etc kick ln with age and managing diabetes becomes gets tougher.Family responsibilities and retirement issues may not always be friendly to a diabetic.

The issues raised by you are common for all sr citizens whether they are diabetics or not..in so far as relationship between fbs an ppbs,there appears to be a relationship,if fbs is controlled say at 80,ppbs will rise to about 120/130 . about 50/60 points.if fb is 100 ppbs will rise to 150/160 range.This is what i notice in my case.i do not know if it applies to others as food type and quantity may play a role.

The numbers given by you are indicative of excellent management.Actually,that is what we have to strive for.Diet has a definite role to play in PPBS numbers.I have found that certain foods actually give lesser reading than fbs,some times.

it is true.Normally food grouped in glycemic index has to be tried experimented and confirmed as suitable to particular individual.

There is no age related limit for FBS and PPBS. For measuring BP however, age is also considered.
