Is there any relation between alcohol and insulin ?

If you're diabetic and you take insulin, you don't want to mix the two since alcohol can make the body think it's going low/having hypos.. I never drink alcohol for this one main reason. The other is since I take anticonvulsants and that would mess everything else up, as well if you mix them.
