It caused my husband to have constant movement of his feet. He had to stop taking it. He has dystonia really bad now.

Someone told me Botox shots helped with dystonia. I am going to ask my doctor about this when I see her in January. Maybe Botox would help your husband.

I am on requip and have dystonia, had to take amantadine for the dystonia. That made a big difference for me and helped a great deal.

I have been on Requip XL since being diagnosed. (2009) And cannot function with out it.Now I have had to tweek it a few times depending on what new Rx the Neuro put me on. Last year I was taking amantadine with the requip and My legs stared to swell and become molten looking. The neuro said my body didn't like it but it did help me feel better. There was nothing i could sub for it. Im now on sinamet and its OK, nothing great. I hope you find something that works.

i have severe dystonia in my right foot (all toes curling under and my ankle turns in) and it is now going into my left foot. I can only where an open toe shoe now. taking stelavo 6x a day, amanatidine 4x a day and azilect and just starting to prepare for DBS early next year. Botox bought me an extra 18 months with no new meds and putting off dbs. had injections every 90 days in the soles of my feet and in my right calf. the first time it was amazing and didn't work as well after that BUT it does buy you some time. cannot take requip or mirapex due to impulse control issues. I would try botox before anything else

I empathise with you totally-right foot toes curling under, ankle turns in, similar meds, ICD on dopamine agonists so taken off them & DBS looming etc- and I was just wondering if you think that your right foot difficulties are more the consequence of taking levodopa than the natural progression of pd??? In my case the condition began many years ago on my left side and my right foot/toe problems have arisen after five tears on levodopa. But I cannot at present be sure that I would have problems whatever med I was taking.

Dystonia is complex and can be due to wearing off of meds but also can occur shortly after taking meds. So will requip help? i don't know but hope this link is helpful.

A friend with very bad dystonia has now got it controlled through using apomorph pump.
