Please could someone explain what DBS surgery is?

Electrodes are put in the brain and electrical impulses are delivered to the area of the brain to produce dopamine. The impulses are sent from a pace maker w/battery. Search DBS surgery, There are many websites on which bto find further information.

Really the electrodes produce impulses that mirror (block) the bad impulses given to our muscles/nerves, thus calming tremors etc. It's quite a process when you think about it. I've inadvertently turned mine off before and realized just what life is like without the help. If you're a candidate for the surgery I say go for it!

I had DBS in 2010 and it gave me back my life. You can read more about my experience by clicking on my avatar.

Here's a DBS video..... my hands shook at least as bad as the man in the video. You can see other videos on You Tube... just search for DBS or Deep Brain Stimulation.

This operation is not specifically for Parkinson’s, but a related problem. However, at the end they mention that it can be applied to Parkinson's as well.. Apparently this is pretty much the same procedure MJ Fox had..
