Ambroxol

Hi. I was diagnosed with parkinsons 4 years ago at age 50 I am on stalevo and safinamide in general my PD is controlled with wearing off in the afternoon and slight dyskensia.I started taking 30mg of ambroxol twice a day and now take 60mg twice e a day my PD seems to be stable I saw my consultant yesterday and he said that I seemed to be doing really well and continue what your doing . I at first was searching everywhere to find ambroxol but now I get it off a uk seller on Amazon just search Ambroxol uk

I am 89 years old and have had PD since I was 52.

I found that medication did nothing for me but, I was very fortunate. My late wife had joined a FAST WALKING program every second day, in which she strived to walk as fast as she could and she achieved tremendous results. She became so fit and healthy that she managed to persuade me to get off my Butt and join her in her bi-daily walking. I did join her and it did the world of good to me. I strived to walk as fast as I could, for one hour, every second day. It worked like a charm, both for her and me!

I would never have got to this age if it were not for the FAST WALKING!

Because of having Atrial Fibrilation, my heart specialist has told me to stop the walking as it is affecting my heart. Where do I go from here? Should I be satisfied with having reached 89 and still being reasonabluy heaalthy?

I suppose I should be very grateful to have reached 89 and still be relatively healthy. Yes I am very grateful for my good health but I do not want to give up my attempts to stay as healthy as possible.

What else can I do to help me stay healthy?

My suggestion would be to engage in a mind body program like Yoga or Tai Chi.

At the very least, Pranayam or breath work.

Why? I have lived a perfectly NORMAL LIFE for many many years. I don't need to take any medication. It is behind me, but nobody else appears to be interested in what I did.

The reason is because it does not cost anything and there is no maney tom be made from it. But, It WORKS

I am in the same boat myself. At close to 90 years of age, I am no longer allowed to do the fast walking and my PD is starting to show again. I have had a very good innings! I have had PD since 1992 and that is over 32 years. If it gets worse now, I just have to deal with it, unless the atrial fibrillation stops, as it has in the past.

Hi yes I've looked at Thai Chi is this really found to make difference
