I recently had to fast for a 2pm blood test. When they took my blood pressure it was 84 over 32. Normally 108 over 64 or so. As soon as I was able to eat it was normal again.

Did your doctor think it was a good thing or a bad thing? Mine was initially horrified and asked me to come to the clinic immediately.

I fast every day. Mine returned to normal after a few sips of water. It's more to do with the autonomous nervous system. You have to find the right thing to trigger normalcy. My blood pressure issues are chronic and not necessarily linked to fasting.

The type of blood that you describe is different from the one described below in the article.

My Dr was concerned but didn't figure it out. I couldn't figure it out either until I looked on the internet and low BP was a possible side effect of fasting.

I read the article. The victims ate 1000 calories the first day then 700 calories the second, third, fourth and fifth day day, then went back to normal eating for 25 days. Now this is a Parkinson's website and aren't these people generally underweight to begin with? I generally skip breakfast and have my first meal around 2PM. Since developing PD I have been unable to lose weight. My BP is always elevated at the doctor's office. But it's white coat syndrome, not truly elevated BP.

Would be nice to do a comparison with a carnivore diet. Coming from Newsweek sounds more like a push for veganism, next will be a bug base diet🙃
