Sublingual Mucuna?

Rubiron profile image

my hwp takes Mucuna and is not on any prescribed medication as we are trying to take the natural route. He is currently taking B1 sublingually while following the HDT protocol. My question is, does anyone know of a sublingual form of Mucuna, which I’m wondering may be a more effective way of taking this supplement by bypassing the digestive route and absorbing directly into bloodstream?

Any thoughts? Thank you

I just checked and you can get a homeopathic version of it. helios.co.uk/en/shop/dolich...

Never seen sublingual but Mucuna Powder works well. I see you are in UK like us. We use Natures Root 100% organic.

So if you use powder would you measure out a small amount, put it in water and hold it under your tongue for 30 seconds?I do that with tinctures.

You could try but I have a proper half teaspoon measure and put it in some flavoured diluted juice. He just swallows it. He's had PD for 30 years and been using Mucuna Powder for 12 years. I give it to him with his sine met plus to bring him 'on'. We found powder better than capsules.

Natures Root 100% organic powder but we are in UK. Half teaspoon as required with his sinemet plus but he has had PD 30 years.

Cannot remember if you answered this another time, but does he have tremor using Mucuna?

He only has tremor when he is 'off'. It works like l-dopa but not sure if it lasts as long. It's cheap enough to try and it's natural dopamine from Velvet Bean.

I dissolve my doses, a mix of C/L -25/100 and mucuna powder from their capsules, in 1-2 ounces of microwaved tea(wife brews a lot of tea). I have had success with on periods close to protein meals where I would always suffer in the past. It is not 100%, but I do get symptom relief somewhat consistently and it also works a little faster.

eschneid How much do you take and how do you take the tea - hot from the microwave or after it goes cold?

I stir it up when hot and if taking dose immediately, will add cold water. If taking it later while out, I put it in those 2 oz rubber, air travel liquid holders. I have made doses the night before a full travel day & no issues with effectiveness.

Doses for me are one c/l 25/100 & usually 160-260 mg mucuna.

Powder is cheaper and you know what you are getting with 100% organic.

Probably right on price as powder comes in bulk . I experimented with many brands more than 10 years ago and my choices have been of consistent quality.

Organic written on package isnt a 100% guarantee for any product these days.
