ARE FDA TRIALS ALWAYS ABOVE BOARD?

I've always had the highest respect for medicine and medical research. These professionals are at their absolute peak in terms of expertise, knowledge and experience. Competition and profit drive this industry, as it does for most if not all industries.

I never paid much attention to the costs of my meds. I had a very good insurance plan, my monthly premiums were pricey, I didn't skimp because it covered all my children and my wife too.

I think the FDA has a big job and does the best it can. Can it be manipulated by others, probably. Can it be manipulated by circumstance, yes and it did the right thing by giving temporary approval to the Covid 19 vaccines.

The World Health Organization is a differant kettle of fish and I am not sure their leadership is up to it. Is the Canadian Minister of Health or his department or the US Secratary of health or his department up to the job. I dont know. There is more to health than food and drugs.

If you would like an answer of someone who has both been in professional ranks and government... I can tell you that there are no special imaginary separate identities. Professionals are also business people and so are the people at government agencies, at least in the United States. Don't fool yourself out of naivete into thinking different...people adopt multiple identities and multiple roles simultaneously, (and the FDA are made up of various professionals, scientists, doctors, who are also in their nature business people at the same time... and really, how could they not and still be able to do their jobs, judging and appraising scientist and doctors and researchers?) because that's how life is... And because they simply can't help it.

You may (what I mean is you have leave to) properly assume imperfection, human frailty, and multiplicity according to how a social participant will experience that such real life multiplicity involves, rather than thinking people operate as pure single stereotypes. If you don't understand what I'm talking about is because you need to read this 10 times then you will.

Have you ever been less than honest? Put yourself ahead of another? Have you ever had fear and not lived up to an ideal because of your fear? Have you ever been unfair? Have you ever taken something you didn't earn or deserve and at someone else's expense? Have you ever failed to live up to an ideal?

Now if you were at the fda, and you also knew somebody who is as low and slimy as they could be also is at the fda, what would that lead you to conclude?

Look at your Junior high School class, look at your Senior high School class, and imagine that at least some of them are on the FDA (or the head of your archdiocese for that matter). What would that tell you? Because that's more likely to be the truth than whatever you're fantasizing as simplistic stereotypes.

Sorry for the cold shower, I've never been the kind of person who can tolerate anything but the straight up in your face truth... Except on occasions when I cannot, in which case I simply turn for the moment to chemistry because it works so well, i.e. another couple extra beers (or whatever).

Marion, honesty is a major part of your success. Every profession has its less than honest moments. My mistake to think medical research was clean. Thanks for your response.

Hi Marion! I'm certain you are well versed in the sunshine act but I do not want to assume. We are getting slaughtered by the drug companies and the FDA!! The HU will surely take me down if I write about it. I too believe in honesty. Tell me and show me you don't speak with a forked tongue and we can have a lengthy good relationship. Life is too short for always wanting to be on top. Honest above board dealings works for me. Be sure to include one of the biggest words in any relationship - RESPECT.

People appreciate candor, yours is bloodless most of the time!!

If I ever need a negotiator you have the job!!

Marion are you sure we haven't met before?

Well, have you ever been to Arkansas, I mean more than just on a bus stop or fill up your gas tank.

I've been to Kansas several times but I don't think watching The Wizard of Oz counts. I visited Ft Leavenworth once, the town on the outside, never inside the prison walls!!

Yes, but have you been to ARkansas? AR-kansas? (Where The Beverly Hillbillies came from.)

Bill Clinton country? Negative. "California is the place you outta be, so they loaded up the bus and they moved to Beverly, Hills that is, etc. When our girls were 7 and 11, we visited LA and of course Rodeo Dr. They were filming a major movie at the time and we got to be in it. The movie was 4,000. Everyone knows it as Pretty Woman. The original title was 4,000, the cost per night of Richard Gere's dalliance.

Hi Jim,

I think Ms. P is saying the answer isn't black or white and that it depends, but I'm not sure, I've only read it twice.

PS. "... and multiplicity according to how a social participant will experience that such real life multiplicity involves,..." ??

I think that by " social participant" she means a person.😁

As in more than "duplicity". Duplicity, get it? As in being duplicitous. Only more than that, multiplicitous. As in having multiple conflicts of interest and acting on them in deception. Like, you know, 3plicity and 4plicity, morecity and like that.
