Ok. Please read on : Link to entire article below.

If you can’t sleep because of your anxiety how are you supposed to get a good nights sleep. I sleep all night like the dead and wake with anxiety.

I also wonder how you can get a good night's sleep with anxiety as I am in that situation. I have just had another dreadful night, and hoped that the link would provide some help for ppl who cannot sleep because of anxiety... but it only adds to my anxiety!

@littlegreenparrot, sometimes I believe that sleep needs a little help 😴 Have you talked to your doctor if you have options such as trazodone? According to my psychiatrist, it is the to go choice for doctors looking for a safer and gentler option for pay patients who have sleep disruption due to anxiety, but aren't so far down the road of hopelessness that they need something much more powerful like Ambien.

@littegreenparrot, so sorry to hear that. Have you tried meditation in any form? The only thing that I have seen working for me apart from medication is yogic breathing called 'pranayama". Google it up. It's not a quick fix, but I have anxiety attacks too, and it does work for me.

However, I still work and I can't afford a 15 minute "meditation break"πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ™πŸ™

Propranolol works amazingly well and calms me down miraculously. It also takes 15 minutes to kick in, but far easier for me to continue with this protocol even if I have an emergency like a sudden meeting.

All the best. πŸ‘Œ

yes, i have tried every sort of breathing exercise but none of it works because I have been a mouth breather for so long, it has changed the shape of my face and my breath is very impeded. I have been breathing through my mouth since I was 3 when my nose was broken,,, I am sorry to be so negative but it is the truth. (I am 78)
