For some reason, this will not allow me to copy and paste a link, even though I've done it here many times. I wanted to direct you to a talk by neurologist Dr David Perlmutter on Parkinson's and the appendix. Forgive me if you've already seen it. He speaks of a markedly reduced risk for PD in those who've had the appendix removed but he doesn't suggest people should rush to have an appendectomy. Why I'm directing you to this page is that he also has a new (to me) section that gives ongoing news about Parkinson's. That might be useful. To access his page and sign up, you can google 'Dr David Permutter and the Appendix' or you can go to 'Dr David Perlmutter: the Empowering Neurologist'. He's worth locating.

The thing that boggles my mind is, how does a bunch of misfolded protein migrate up the vagus nerve and wind up in the brain? Migrating up a nerve? I just dont buy it. Im no neurologist but I think the misfolded proteins in the brain are formed in the brain. I havr no research based proof though. Just a GUT feeling, lol.
African swallows do indeed migrate!! At the University of South Africa where I worked, we watched them gather and then take off -- but not with coconuts! I hope I heard this correctly. My deafness is increasing horribly!
Thank you for this diversion, Bass of Spades.
