My advice to you would be to save as much money as you can whilst you can still work, make an appointment to see a nutritionist to get the best diet for you, start exercising regularly and try to learn as much as you can from others in the same situation.

Welcome.This site can be very helpful, and to someone as new to pd as you are, it can be frightening. Just remember, it affects each individual differently. I had heard that "the first five years after diagnosis is a honeymoon time." Unfortunately, in my case, that proved to be true, there was a rapid decline after five years. But there are so many things you can do in these early years that can prevent that from happening, mostly diet and vigorous exercise, that I didn't know about early on. Stay tuned, you'll learn a lot from this blog, lots of good stuff.

Welcome! It lovely to feel understood here. My suggestion is to read a lot! Read posts here but read other things too. Lots of people here will point you to research and other useful sights to read. Become an expert as you will be dealing with it for the long haul. Be pro active and take control of your health. It’s overwhelming at first but then you start to fell impowered. You can make the best decisions for your own health. Lots of people here to encourage you along the way and answer your questions.
