I take wellbutrin, that helps. I take another anti-depressant, cymbalta, because it mitigates nerve pain. That has helped hugely. Before that, I had a lot of pain. I just started an anxiety med, buspar, although I'm starting to get uneasy about the number of pills I take. I also go to Rock Steady Boxing and that always brings my mood up.

One wellbutrin first thing in the morning works for me. I spent yesterday on the internet looking for hobbies I can take on to help me now and future as after 14 yrs of PD and still working I kept myself busy. Been off the last 5 months I need to find something to do. Enjoying being outside but need to find something for the rainy days. I think I will pick up a book. Whoops my wife asked me to clean fridge first while she is working . I think I will comply. Have a great day . Let God arise and depression be scattered.

I was having depression and anxiety at night. Turns out it was the Azilet I had been taking it for 9 years when i figured it out. I had some depression the entire time. Before Azilet i had not had any depression.

Any type of exercise will help. It should include something that will get your heart beat up and weight work.

Keeping busy also helps. A old saying is idle hands are the devils workshop. This also applys to depression. Sitting around and dwelling on things just makes them worse.

Amitriptyline is doing the job for me, and - divine surprise - it's also a tricyclic antidepressant i.e. it could slow down the clumping of alpha-synuclein according to a recent publication, and a powerful pain killer.

How often do you take it and do you experience any side effects?

I take it once a day at bedtime. Side effects are weight gain through increased appetite, and - talking of appetite - loss of libido...

Having PD is depressing especially if you let it get the best of you. Get up... keep moving... develop an exercise program where you challenge yourself to do a little more each week than you did the week before. I find that physical accomplishment even if it is just walking another loop around the block can do a lot to relieve your pain, anxiety and depression.

My dreadful anxiety was completely cured with one hypnosis session. Try it!

As for the pain, the only drug free things i know that work are massage and lots of stretching.

I take Lexapro for depression and I do believe it helps with anxiety too. I also have Xanax if I need it. The pain is usually lessened by taking my sinemet. Especially my shoulder and arm pain. I agree completely with what others have said about exercise and stepping out of our comfort zone and being surrounded by people. I think it's so important for humans to feel they are moving forward in some way and perhaps doubly important for us. I have just signed up for a boxing class and I'm looking forward to that.

Oh wow, that's a big coctail. I take Norco, similar to Percocet, xanax if needed and Cymbalta (have for years). Celexa is hard on my tummy.Don't know if I'd try marijuana or not, even medical. Would love the boxing but it's too far away. I have Dep and Fibro. Hubby has PD. We go to PD support group. I have none. ☹️

I laugh........

Hi Annie. Have you looked at my profile on this website? If so, you will have seen that I am not a medically trained person and nor am I a physical training instructor. I am a Pd patient and have been diagnosed for over 25 years, even though my symptoms go back for 54 years. I have got a lot better, including my depression. I am not cured but I now live a normal life and I turn 83 next month. I have not had to take any Pd medication since 2002. Exercise produces endorphins, which naturally help depression. I have been suffering with depression since the 1970's. While I keep up my walking my depression stays at a low level, but if I stop the walking or become very stressed then my depression shows up again.
