Is anyone else on Miramex? Any side effects? Also, do any of you know in you're head what you want to say, but the words just don't come out

There have been several side effects, tremors became horrible, walking has been so hard, and speech ...but two wks ago he doubled the dosage.. the tremors are so much better,.walking and speech still need improvement, but it's working

Do you mean pramipexole / Mirapex? This is a dopamine agonist which can have some extremely undesirable adverse effects. Are you taking levodopa in any form?

No apologies needed. I do not agree with the neuro pushing this and you not taking any form of levodopa. The idea that long term levodopa use increases the likelihood of dyskinesia has been debunked.

Yes...I know exactly what you are saying.....I have these episodes, too....sometimes to the point of stutter and mumbling my words.

My symptoms started similarly. My fingers stopped working. Hand, arm and shoulder barely moved. My neuro started me on Azilect which was a bit improvement but not enough. Then added Mirapax and oh boy was I in for a ride. Impulsiveness, and reckless thoughts. I felt like my breaks are off. Not a bad feeling actually but unfortunately with negative consequences for people around you. You can search the forum there are many posts about the side effects.

Finally I changed neuro and the new one switched me over to carbI/levodopa and things got back to almost normal. I know it's short lived but at least works.

I can workout, exercise , live!
