I'm going to start this program tomorrow. A therapist is coming to the house and work with me for an hour a day for four days a week for four weeks

I don't understand. Why do you want to be big and loud?

I sure will. Tomorrow is just an evaluation. From what I heard after the month is up, I do the exercises twice a day for the rest of my life

I've heard it's a really good program. They also have LSVT Loud which is helpful if your voice is soft.

BIG and loud helps. Make sure you do these exercises twice a day and if possible three times. The more you exercise the better. I also have an elliptical that I use at least 15 minutes a day, plus I go to 24hour fitness three times a week, Silver Sneekers class. Setting and feeling sorry for yourself I found it is easy. It takes determination. I take Rytary 3 capsules 3 times a day.. Was diagnosed a year ago, had right hand tremors, handwriting was small, and right arm did not want to swing properly. Good luck and GOD bless us all.

Just wondering since you said the voice therapy would be in your home I have not heard of that avenue. Congrats and best of luck with it!

You are so lucky having someone come to your house. Unfortunately this is something which is not available for parkies in the UK: I wish it was as I understand it's really helpful. I'm sure my husband would really benefit from the LVST Loud program as well as his voice is very weak at times.

GlenandGerry I believe YouTube has their videos

AmmieM thanks for this, we did have a look on YouTube once previously but my hubby is not the self-motivating type.....he needs someone to 'lead from the front' so going to a class or having someone come round to our home would suit him better ;-)

I live in NZ and did the LSVt BIG program at home last year, was the best thing I've done for my PD and sense of well being. It gave me a sense of control and I do my exercises every night. I hope you find as much encouragement from it as I did.
