Hi can anyone tell me when introducing new meds how long before i feel better ?

Give it a few weeks Joe. I started taking madopar 62.5mg about 4 weeks ago. It took about 2 weeks before my balance started to improve and I was really impatient for results. It seems to be a cumulative effect so every day is better.

I have been on madopar before but this is a change over from dispersble madopar to capsules , what do u have capsules ?

Yes capsules. I've not tried the dispersible madopar.

Hi joe41,

sorry for not replying earlier. Meds seem to be working okay. I can't tell how long before they kick-in though. It's still early days for me and overall my balance is still improving although I still have good and bad days so not sure what's going on there.

Pretty good. Still waiting to see the new neurologist at StonyBrook. Hope i can go back onto azilect or selegeline so my nights are better. Thanks for asking. I was also thinking of you this morning.

Yeah I'm getting their slowly , I'm on just 2mg patch which is much better

And ive got my meds changed , so I'm on madopar capsules instead of dispersable and 1mg azilect , I've only started them weds last week , so proberbly got a few weeks to feel the difference , .

Still need to build confidence up as well after my falls ..

Going to see a new neurologist soon. He's coming to Stony Brook so i hope he'll be good. When my sinemet is working during the day I'm okay. At night its horrible trying to get to the bathroom in time without falling. You'll have to let me know how the azilect goes. I want to try it again but my blood pressure is erratic right now.

Hi Joe. I have been on honeymoon for 4 weeks and only picked up this question this afternoon. I have had Pd for over 50 years. I was only diagnosed with it in 1992. In 2002 I came off the only Pd medication I used, which was Eldepryl, as I had got so much better, and was able to come off the medication and have not had to go back onto it since then.
