Forgive me Laura for I have sinned........

I changed my workouts this week to take advantage of the gym being shut on Good Friday. So went out on Monday, Wednesday (both doing speed on the treadmill as I needed to get in, showered, breakfasted, dressed and to work) and Friday where I planned a long slow run, trying to crack the 8k barrier.

All went to plan (and the plan was to continue running every other day (rather than Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) during the Easter hols while there's no work). But then the sun put in an appearance yesterday and it was so nice during my long run (I got to 7.6k, and the last couple of k were hard work) and the forecast for today was good and the last two Saturdays I have tried and failed to get to the parkrun........

So, many apologies but I ran again this morning. A light jog down to the start showed me my leg still had a bit of a niggle from yesterday so I took it easy. I was at the very back about 50yds in, but gradually left a few people behind that had started too fast.

It was hard work, I felt most of yesterday's miles as well as today's. My time? Quite respectable 32.05!!!

And it's probably worked out for the best as I'm off out next Saturday so wouldn't be able to run then, so Monday, Wednesday, Friday it will be.

And just so you know, the sun did put in an intermittent appearance, so did the snow!!!!!!

Well done Beads! Good distances and time for parkrun :) I was really tempted to go out today too after a lovely long run in sunshine yesterday but as it was my first run after about 9 days due to a bad back I could feel my calves complaining to me today so thought it best to give them a rest and go tomorrow instead.

I think if you are feeling ok then it's fine to run on consecutive days now and again especially as you have been running for a good while now; wouldn't encourage newbies to do it though otherwise might get a telling off from Laura!!

Have a lovely Easter!

Sue

Well done!! Sounds brilliant! Sunshine at long last - it seems a shame not to enjoy it.

I agree with SBG356 - I reckon that by the time you've been running for a good while it doesn't hurt to run on consecutive days once in a while, as long as you don't push it too hard. It must surely be less of a shock to your body than the first couple of weeks of the programme were...

Well done again :-D

Thank you. It's been blizzarding here this afternoon, as hubby put it 'everything's turned white again!'

Awesome time beads!!! :-) I'm having a very difficult time breaking the 8K barrier as well. Usually by the time I reach that point, I feel like I use to when I first ran 30 minutes, then 5K.

Thanks Gayle, I've beaten the 8k on the treadmill but that's just a matter of keeping going, no hills or anything. But doing it in the wild is harder, if I head out from here too far I end up having to climb (big) hills on the way home, which isn't going to happen anytime soon.
