I'm in very hot Perth, Western Australia. It's way too hot to run. How do others's manage their running with extreme heat?

Too hot to run
Hi newrunner - we used to live in mount Helena/sawyers valley up in the Perth hills... Before that, Fremantle. I am addicted to hiking but that just didn't happen in WA for me! I now live in Austria and i really feel for you! I remember those evenings under the gum tees waiting for it to go below 38 or even 40 on some evenings and the thought still brings me out in a cold sweat!
I really understand what you are going through and unless you can get up at 04.00 and run then in that WA heat I'm really not sure how you would manage.... Run outside in the winter and then in an air-con gym in the summer?? Afterall, here in northern climes a lot of people do the reverse so it's not such a far fetched idea is it?
Good luck and a big hello to WA :-), Sara
Move to northern England!! its generally cold, wet and windy do no problems running in heat!
Seriously though, air-con gym sounds like a good solution
Hiya early early morning is your best bet!!! I am struggling with heat and humidity, but the early morning runs are the best, make sure you drink lots of water!
